In my last post, I discussed the “secrets” of creating internet business income. Apart from good quality information and guidance about how to proceed, you need to be determined.
Creating internet business income will not happen overnight and you should not expect it to. If you do, you will be disappointed.
Today, I’d like to discuss a few points on exactly where you can look to generate your internet business income, specifically, looking for a niche.
What do I mean by a niche? Well, this is an area or market that you would be interested in selling products or information about. As examples, gardening and horses are potential niches. When selecting a niche for your online business, there are essentially two aspects to consider.
The first aspect to consider are your interests. Say for example, you are interested in sky diving. Selling products or information around the area of sky diving should be relatively easy, as you have background knowledge in that subject. This background knowledge will allow you to speak with authority on your subject. In addition, your passion for sky diving will (hopefully!) give you the passion to ensure that your online endeavours are successful and you can create internet business income (to perhaps go sky diving more often!).
The second aspect to think about is the size of the niche you are considering. Clearly, the broader the niche, the greater the level of competition (and the harder it will be to distinguish your online business from all the others). The mistake that some people make is that they try and tackle a huge, competitive market from the start. They will work really hard, see little reward for their efforts and then give up.
My recommendation would be to start out small and pick a niche that doesn’t have a huge amount of competition. To go back to our gardening niche, there are lots of competitors out there on the internet in that area and so your opportunities to create internet business income are likely to be VERY limited.
However, a smaller part of that niche, such as growing red roses or cultivating pumpkins would be much smaller niches in which it may be easier to establish an online presence.
In my next post, I’ll offer some suggestions for finding niches and determining whether you should tackle them!
In the meantime, here are some interesting articles which expand on what I’ve mentioned
